16th Lunar Mansion & Spica (Profit in Business)

“The sixteenth Mansion is Azebene, and it is for the making of money (which is to say, in selling and buying). When the Moon is passing through this Mansion, fashion in a plate of silver the figure of a man seated in a throne and carrying a scale in his hands. Suffumigate the image with fine odors and set it out under the stars for seven nights, saying each night: ‘You, Azeruch, make such and such happen for me, and accomplish my request.’ Ask of it pertaining to selling and buying. Know that Azeruch is the name of the lord of this Mansion.” (Picatrix, Book 4, Chapter 9, Greer-Warnock edition)

The 16th Lunar Mansion is ideal for anyone who owns a business or relies on sales and customers. Picatrix and other sources like Ibn Hatim wrote that it brings a beneficial influence for business. I have tested these with two people, one with a lunar mansion talisman and the other with Spica, and both experienced a tremendous increase in business in only months. One was a small struggling business with few clients and within four months his clientele had grown to the point that he had to turn down offers.

These talismans are some of the very best I’ve ever made. Among other excellent factors, the Moon is tightly conjoining the fixed star Spica (24 Libra 11) within one degree. Spica or “the ear of grain” has been regarded throughout history as perhaps the most benefic star in the sky, adding a wonderful influence to the Moon in the 16th Mansion. In fact, this election was also used to make Spica talismans. According to the Quindecum Stellis, a medieval Hermetic text, a Spica talisman will “increase gold, accumulate riches, bring victory in lawsuits, and free men from evil and anguish.”

Around 127 BC, the Greek astronomer Hipparchus discovered (or possibly rediscovered) the precession of the equinox by observing Spica. He visited an Egyptian temple in Thebes which was constructed about 2,000 years before. This temple’s design was oriented to Spica's heliacal rising which is when the star is briefly visible above the eastern horizon just before sunrise. Using the temple’s orientation as a reference point, he observed that Spica had slowly moved during the 2,000 years that had passed. Long before this, Spica had been used to mark the seasons for agriculture and as an aid in navigation due to its intense brightness.

Who Is This For?

How They Were Made

Lunar materials were used to create these talismans. Quartz and silver were engraved per the instructions in Picatrix for the 16th Mansion talismans. The image is of a seated man holding scales, and the lord of the mansion’s name is engraved above him along with the petition word “profit”.  Frankincense incense was used for the suffumigation.

Immediately after the talismans were made they were placed in a windowsill under starlight and placed back into their bags before sunrise. For the following six nights I placed them in the windowsill with frankincense burning as Picatrix instructs. It is recommended that the owner of one of these talismans performs this nightly petition for seven nights beginning when the Moon enters the 16th Mansion.

Election

An incredibly fast Moon culminates in the Midheaven in the 16th Mansion conjoining Spica within one degree. The Moon applies to trine the benefic Jupiter in the second house of wealth/material goods and there is mutual reception by Face. The first and second house ruler Saturn is incredibly strong in Aquarius and the Moon’s sign ruler Venus is in her domicile Venus. The Moon squares the Part of Fortune which receives her in her domicile Cancer. The time window for the election was extremely small because I wanted Mars to be separated from the descendant by at least five degrees.
